[AB#8] Evolution of craft or revolution in production

Evolution of craft or revolution in production confirms the impact of digital technology in the filmmaking process. This article suggests a variety of elements that make cinematography and how it has emerged over the span of decades. In addition to the science of cinema, Mateer does a great job explaining the role of film, the evolution of motion picture, and new digital technologies and processes. As new digital technology emerges, innovators claim that new technology represent a change in feature production. Evolutionists “counter that although there are new roles associated with production and post using new digital systems, the fundamental aspects of cinematography… have remained virtually unchanged” (Mateer, 2014).
